A Winnipeg man has been charged with criminal negligence causing death after a 51-year-old man walking in Transcona was struck and killed by a snowmobile last month.
The 22-year-old driver of the snowmobile was arrested and charged on Friday.
Police say the man, who was released on a promise to appear in court, has been co-operative with investigators.
Ken Stammers was walking in a field east of the 500 block of Redonda Street near Paulley Drive at about 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 13 when a snowmobile hit him in an area where police have said snowmobiling is not allowed.
